Michael Jordan Basketball Shoes: Nike Air Jordan IX (9)Pictures and information of the Nike Air Jordans IX (9): |
|
Seemingly at the height of his game, Michael Jordan retires from hoops. Though the only time he plays in the IX is as a baseball cleat, the clean Japanese-inspired design reflects the world's most famous athlete's desire to return to a simpler life. Featuring a refined inner-booty, speed-lacing and a unique sole speaking to MJ's championship qualities in foreign-languages, Tinker Hatfield, the shoe's designer, chooses it to adorn Michael's statue outside the Chicago stadium. On October 6, 1993, Michael Jordan stuns the world as he announces his retirement from the game of basketball. He exits with the highest career average ever at 32.3 ppg. FOllowing a dream held by him and his late gather, who was killed in North Carolina that year, MJ plays minor league baseball for a Chicago farm team. MJ bats .202 with 3 HR, 51 RBI, 0 stolen bases (tied 5th in Southern League), 11 errors and 6 outfield assists. He loads his club with 11 bases-loaded RBI and 25 RBI with runners in scoring position and two cuts. Information from Nike.com |
